Benim adım Şanslı (Lucky). 6 aylığım ve kangal meleziyim Lucy gibi. Ben koşucuydum köpek yavrusuyken ve de distemper hastalığına yakalanmıştım. Bize koşucular denir çünkü bizler sahipsiziz ve de bir parça ekmek uğruna koşan köpekleriz. Diğer iki koşucuda da distemper hastalığı vardı. Çoğu köpek ben hastayken benden uzak durmak için korkunç şeyler yaptılar.Fakat gidecek hiçbir yerim yoktu bu yüzden onların beni üzmelerini kabullendim. Hayvan Yardım adında bir hayır kurumu beni buldu ve bakıcı bir anneye göndererek hayatta kalmam için bir şans verdi. Distemper , hayatta kalma oranı sadece %50 olan bir çeşit virüstur ve bakımı sadece uygun tıbbi bakım ile sağlanır. Hayvan Yardım benim diğer iki arkadaşım için bakıcı anne bulamadı ve ben oradan ayrıldığımda onlar öldü. Ben şanslıydım.

Hastalığım bakıcı anne evindeyken ciddi anlamda ilerdeydi. Onlar böyle ilerlediğini düşünmüyordu. Veterinerim, World Bike Girl için Lucy’i seçen Serkan’dı.

World Bike Girl’ün test sonuçlarının henüz gelip gelmediğini soran Serkan , tesadüfen onun cerrahisi oldu. Bu sorular arasında o da ordaydı. Beni gördü ve hayla distemper olup olmadığımı görmek için atılıyordu. World Bike Girl benim hakkımda güzel bir şeyin olduğunu söyledi. O Hayvan Yardım Facebook sayfasında beni takip etmiş ve ertesin gün de yanıma geldi.

Beni yürüyüşe davet etti.  Çok hastaydım ve bakıcı annem sadece enjeksiyonlarla gitmeme izin verdi. Bundan önce distemper  ‘ den kurtulan oldugunu bilmiyordum ve artık daha fazla enjeksiyon istemiyordum. Bu yüzden gitmeyi redettim. World Bİke Girl beni dışarı çıkardı ve ben gerçekten onunla gitmek istemiyordum sonra beni sakinleştirdi. O emindi , eğer beni Çalış Plaj’ına götürürse her şey iyi olucaktı. O haklıydı ! . Plaja varmıştık ve koştum ! . O da benimle koştu ve ben onun tüm arkadaşlarıyla oynadım.

Onlar beni sevdi ben de onları. Çok naziktim çünkü ben bir Kangal cinsiydim.

Benim gibi bile huysuz köpekler! Bakıcı annemin kedisi vardı ve ben onlarla bile iyi geçinmiştim.

Bakım sürem artık sona geliyor. Eğer oralarda hiçbir aile yoksa barınaklarda ölümle yüzyüze olma riskiyle yaşıyacağım.  World Bike Girl diyor ki ; ben mükemmel bir köpeğim bir aile için ve o beni böyle riskler içinde olduğumu görmek istemiyor. My name is Lucky.  I am 6 months old and a crossbreed of Kangol the same as Lucy was.  When I was a puppy I was a runner and very sick with distemper.  We are called runners because we are the dogs with no owners who run around outside dog pounds to give us a chance of food.  Two of the other runner puppies had distemper also.  Lots of dogs did horrible things to me to make me leave as I was sick.  But I had nowhere else to go so I allowed them to hurt me.  A local animal charity called Animal Aid found me a foster mommy to give me the chance of survival.  Distemper is a virus which only has a 50% survival rate and that’s with proper medical care.  Animal Aid couldn’t find foster mommies for my other two puppy friends and they died when I left.  I was lucky.

I was very sick in my foster mommy’s home.  They didn’t think I was going to make it.  My vet was Serkan who World Bike Girl had chosen for Lucy.

By chance World Bike Girl was in Serkan’s Surgery asking if Lucy’s test results had arrived yet.  She was in there a lot asking this.  She saw me being taken in to get my blood tested to check if I had survived distemper.  World Bike Girl said there was something wonderful about me.  She tracked me down via the Animal Aid Facebook page and the next day came to my foster mommy’s home.

She wanted to take me for a walk.  But I hadn’t ever been for a walk before.  I had been too sick and only left my foster mommy’s house for injections.  I didn’t know the day before I had become a survivor of distemper and I didn’t want to go for more injections, so I refused to go.  World Bike Girl carried me out and I really didn’t want to go with her but she calmed me down.  World Bike Girl was sure if she could get me to Calis Beach all would be well.  She was right!  We arrived at the beach and I ran! World Bike Girl ran with me and I played with all the friends that Lucy had.

The children loved me and I loved them.  I am so gentle because I am a Kangol breed and we protect.

Even grumpy dogs like me!  My foster mommy has cats and I get on with them too!

My foster time is coming to an end.  If there is no family out there who wants me I will have to go into a shelter where I risk disease and death.  World Bike Girl says I am the perfect dog for a family and she doesn’t want this to happen.  If you think I may make your life better please contact World Bike Girl or Animal Aid.  My name is Lucky and I am a good dog.
