Ishbel Holmes

Adventurer – Author – Speaker

Animal Rescuer

Ishbel has cycled solo across 20 countries, trekked 100 miles of Patagonia unsupported … pedalled 5000 metres high … wild camped in minus 20 degrees celsius …. pedalled the Pyrenees, Alps and Andes, cycled and wild camped through the Pantanal Jungle …. followed Che Guevara’s final footsteps across Bolivia …. cycled the largest salt plain in the world …. crossed a country with no money … raced internationally as a velodrome sprinter and road raced around UK. That’s the easy stuff.

Ishbel’s start to adult life saw her run away from foster care, spending years homeless, struggling with her mental health which was damaged from trauma and abandonment. Ishbel came to a cross roads in her life at age 21, as do many young people in similar situations. What was the point of living when everyday she wanted to die? She knew she either had to end it there or commit herself to living. Ishbel chose life. Some of her friends didn’t. Since then Ishbel went on to lead an extraordinary life.

Ishbel is an author, writer and public speaker using stories of adventure to inspire and empower.

She is passionate about bridging the gap between incredible adversities and awe-inspiring achievements, tackling social stigmas and encouraging social change to help the most disadvantaged of society.
