THANKS TO EVERYONE SHARING LUCKY HAS A HOME! MORE DETAILS TO FOLLOW!
This is an emergency. Lucky will not survive.
Lucky’s adoption family have today confirmed they are no longer in a position to bring Lucky to the UK. Her foster placement ends this week.
Lucky will not survive in the shelter. The best we can do is put her out onto the streets.
World Bike Girl readers; we know there are people out there who would love to give Lucky a home. They just haven’t seen her story yet. We know by using social media we can make these connections happen.
We know this, because we’ve done this before and we can do it again.
I’m asking everyone to donate one share to Lucky. We know this works.
Lucky is in Calis, Fethiye, Turkey and needs a forever home. We are also in urgent need of a foster placement to give Lucky time for this social media campaign to work it’s magic.
For interested parties who live out with Turkey, Lucky has finished all quarantine procedures and is ready to travel but there would be transportation expenses to meet.
We all know people who holiday in Turkey; who knows who’s on their friends list who may come forward if you share. Even if you don’t know anyone with a love of dogs or in Turkey, share anyway – you have a friends list and each of the names on it has a friends list. That’s a lot of people.
We can never tell where these human dog connections are going to come from, we just share and social media does the rest.

We will take Lucky. We are adopting her foster sister [ puppy ] so thought it would be best if they stay together . Harry our English setter will love them both . They can all run around in our huge garden in Bulgaria , go for lots of walks and have a loving home . We have contacted Animal aid [ Andy and Pauline ] . Regards Kevin and Linda Dennis .
Hi Ishbel, I don’t think the costs will be that high. I tooks dogs with me from Turkey and it never costed that much. I took one with me to Belgium by plane and it costed about € 50 or € 75 for the flight and about € 40 for the paperwork to export the dog. But you will need someone to fly with her off course. I wished I could take her myself! I really hope you will find a good home for her!
That’s for a dog transportation company into UK and to fly a dog into UK it’s £800-£1000 just for dog on airline. Obviously people would ha choice to fly out and fly back but would need to go via Holland or Belgium and get ferry. Wouldn’t recommend Chanel tunnel route just now. Lucky now has a home in Belgium – more details will follow Thanks xxx
Awe, what a lovely dog. Are you looking for a foster home in UK Ishbel? If so, can you say roughly what the transportation cost might be. I have a friend in St Albams who I will contact if I can have an idea of transportation costs that I can convey to her. Also, I can try to persuade my husband to maybe foster Lucky but as we are both pensioners if the cost for transportation was expensive, we might not be able to meet it. Let me know if you can then I will see if there is anything I can do to help. Kind regards. June Higgins x
Hi June, looking for foster home in Turkey June. Costs vary between £750-£1000. I have a women who’s contacted me from UK and is really keen on Lucky. Waiting to connect her with some friends who have a lot of experience in transporting dogs to see best and quickest option. I should know later today of it’s a go-er and will update as soon as I do. Thanks so much for your kindness. If you know anyone in Turkey, preferably Calis/Fethiye area who might be interested in fostering her pass the word on 🙂 xxx
We have found someone in the UK who is hoping to adopt a dog from Turkey, and I’ve done my best to connect this person with Susan Cato. Let’s get this moving forward, so Lucky is no more Lucky but renamed Loved and Homed forever.
Patricia what an amazing comment to log into! Thank you so so much! The right connection will be out there. If I wasn’t cycling around the world and had a home Lucky would be my first choice. Pass on to anyone who’s interested that I’ve spent a lot of time wit Lucky and tested her out in every situation I could imagine before writing her up back in April. She really is amazing. Thanks again x
